[He won't kill him, though. The moment Caster hits the ground is when he's won. And yes, he's fairly certain that he's taking Caster to the ground. It's just the differences in their abilities.]

[ That makes Caster pause- right, the pack was just something to throw on the table, he thought Lancer will add something else to the pile. Maybe suggest something else, but this? ]
Wha- ha, is that your stake? [ He has to confirm if that's what Lancer chooses as his winning prize- can't back off now, can't lose either. His cancerstick habit is on the line. ]
[ He's being challenged, he can't just like, back off! Dammit Diarmuid, what do you have against cigs? Caster grab a spear that feels the most right to his hand, and assumes his own, ready-to-fight position ]
For how long? [ He barks a laughter ] Don't give me "forever" unless you can suggest some winning reward for me better than just that pack.
[ The stakes are unfair. His own pack if he wins and swearing them all together if he loses? He wants some additional nice reward too ]
Deal! [ Yeah, that sounds fair, balanced and all that. Instead of launching the attack first, he assumes a more defensive position.
Gotta figure out how to best counter two spears. They give Diarmuid double reach, and it would mean probably a bit less flexibility- if not for the fact that his being outclassed in stats by just the class difference. That tiny advantage he could use only if their stats had been equal. ]
Show me what you've got [ He cocks his head and gives a wide grin. Even if he's going to get his ass kicked, he'll get his ass kicked with style! ]
[He begins to move closer to him, kicking his foot off of the ground and dashing towards him swinging his spears towards him and aiming right at his stomach.
He expects Cu to dodge. If he doesn't dodge, then a foot coming up will just knock him back.]
[ Yeah, this attack is made to take a side-step to avoid it. If Diarmuid had one weapon- it would be taking a dodge on the side of his non-dominant hand. But of course with two spears it doesn't really matter - left or right - Diarmuid will still be in a perfect position to launch an attack.
Can't even go on the purely mechanical basics with ya, but perhaps that's better. Not thinking was the plan, but focusing and thinking about something else.
So Caster chooses the third option and surges forward, low almost touching ground he avoids the attack, puts a distance and effectively switches their initial positions. ]
Say, are you angry? [ Or disappointed. But angry is better, and easier variant. That's what's been on his mind. Does Diarmuid think he didn't do enough to keep Ginia with them? Of course, he knows they were close. There could be resentment to a god after losing friend ]
[ Caster nods- that she is who is he talking about- and starts blocking the flurry of attacks- to spears mean a lot more work. He spins and twirls his own to catch and deflect the strikes- high, low, whatever.
Sometimes, like now, something passes through and the weapon grazes him. But it's nothing. Just a testament to the vessels differences. ]
